Meet Your Confidante
Hello!I’m Kelly
My body bore the witness my voice could not
The cost of silence was eventually etched into my very DNA. My body began to keep the score of a life lived in a state of high alert, manifesting in a diagnosis of heart disease and chronic anxiety. While I was navigating the terrifying, unfamiliar worlds of police precincts and courtrooms for the first time, my physical heart was breaking under the weight of the secrets I was forced to carry. The stress of maintaining a facade isn't just emotional—it is a threat to your very survival.
Trading the Holy Facade for holy ground
For years, I was the keeper of a hollow secret. Under the direction of the "spiritual head" of my home, I stood alone and handed the keys of our life back to the bank. I was forced to orchestrate a performance of "moving on," telling friends and neighbors we had sold our home, when in reality, we were surrendering it to the shadows of bankruptcy. I lived in the agonizing gap between the truth and the lies I was told to tell—sacrificing my own integrity to protect a man’s status as a spiritual leader.
The fire I walked through wasn't just the high-drama of a scorched-earth divorce or the public humility of bankruptcy; it was the slow, soul-crushing work of maintaining a lie for the sake of "faith". I have known the sharp, lonely pain of choosing safety over blood, making the heart-wrenching decision to distance myself from my birth family so that I could finally breathe.
I am not here to offer you "spiritual" platitudes or easy prayers that ignore the blood on the floor. I am here because I have lived in the trenches of betrayal. I have been the woman standing at the bank, the woman lying to her community, and the woman breaking generational cycles with nothing but her own two hands.
“You do not have to perform here. You do not have to “pray away” the trauma that was inflicted by those who claimed to speak for God.
Whether you are fighting to shield your children from the same generational shadows you escaped or simply trying to remember who you are outside of someone else’s control, I am standing with you.
In this space, your “un-pretty” truth is more sacred than any forced performance.
I am here to hold the light while you find your way back to yourself, far away from the pews of judgment and the requirements of the facade.”
A Note on Healing I am here as a survivor and a peer walking beside you. In my own journey toward wholeness, I have leaned heavily on the wisdom of my own therapist and trusted medical professionals. Their expertise has been a vital part of my story. While I share my heart here to offer empathy and companionship, please remember that my words are not a substitute for the clinical or medical advice of your own professional team.
I know the invisible weight of the Holy Facade
I lived for years in the shadow of faith-based narcissism—a world where the person causing the harm often uses the language of God to justify it. It is a unique kind of isolation to experience a "private war" while the public sees a pillar of your religious community. I know the exhaustion of trying to reconcile the spiritual mask they wear with the cold reality of their actions when the doors are closed.
I am a parent and a protector
My daughter’s journey has been the most profound catalyst for my own. I watched her "crash" after years of carrying a weight no child should hold. I have sat beside her through a shocking diagnosis of PTSD and three years of intensive therapy, witnessing her fight to reclaim a life that was nearly stolen by a fear she had to keep secret. I know the fierce, protective love it takes to break these generational cycles and the courage required to prioritize her healing—and mine—over the demands of a toxic family structure.
I am your confidante
I am here to be the witness to the truths you were told would "shame the faith" if spoken aloud. I know the unique, agonizing paralysis of being silenced by the very faith pedestal your abuser stands upon. When a family member is revered as a spiritual leader, your suffering becomes an inconvenience to the image of their 'piety,' and your voice is sacrificed to protect the sanctity of their reputation. I see you navigating the sterile, terrifying halls of a legal system you never thought you’d enter, and I feel the weight of the health crisis your body finally manifested because it could no longer carry the burden of a "holy" lie.
I have learned the hard way about the Holy Facade—the masks of piety, prophetic, and spiritual authority, that abusers use to hide their true nature.
For decades, I was the woman smiling in the church foyer while my soul was breaking in the pews, wearing my own Mask of Survival to keep the peace.
I built this sanctuary because I realized that healing from religious narcissistic abuse requires a different kind of space—one built on truth, not performance.
